The design for this addition and renovation of an existing Georgian Style Residence was driven by the client’s desire to modernize the house to accommodate the needs of a young family. A large classical dormer was added to the attic level of the main house adding significant light to the redesigned grand staircase. The addition includes a modern kitchen, family room and second level offices all with views of the pool and rear yard. In the eaves above the garage a private guest suite with kitchenette enjoys long views of the river valley to the west. Given the age of the house all building systems were upgraded with new energy efficient designs.
