MATTHIESSEN PARK RESIDENCE
Irvington, New York
A new 6,000 square feet Classical Revival residence utilizing natural materials including wood, stucco, field stone and slate was designed for a vacant site in the historic district of a Hudson River Village. Variants of styles and details are evocative of Georgian and Greek Revival Periods of mid-nineteenth century Colonial and Romantic residential development in the Hudson River Valley.
Both traditional methods of construction and innovative technology were implemented, including a pre-fabricated wood framing system which arrived at the site on flat-bed trucks.
